Hi, my name is Wanda Christmas. I am the mother of two sons. I am a licensed childcare provider who is inspected by The Department Of Family and Protective Services. Research shows that caregivers who are better trained are better able to prevent, recognize, and correct health and safety problems. I opened my childcare home in 1988, registered in 1994, and became licensed in 2001. During this time I have received training and experience in the following areas: CPR, First Aid, child growth and development, children's health, special needs, nutrition, physical activity, preventing the spread of communicable disease, SIDS, curriculum planning, discipline, guidance, teacher-child interaction, and responsive caregiving. I have a Child Development Credential. The CDA is based on a combination of verified training hours, objective testing, and direct observation of the candidate in the classroom environment. The CDA encompasses both working with children in the ECE (Early Childhood Education) setting and interaction with parents and guardians.
